
Butter mashed potatoes
Description
Mashed potatoes prepared according to this recipe are incredibly tender and have a delicate flavor. The mash can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator. Take it out 2–3 hours before serving and bake in the oven at 175°C for about 20–30 minutes.

Step 1

1. Peel and cut the potatoes into pieces of uniform size. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the potatoes. Bring to a boil again and cook for 30 to 35 minutes. The potatoes are done when they can be easily pierced with a knife or fork, but do not fall apart.

2. Drain the potatoes in a large colander. Return the potatoes to the dry pot and place on the stove. Mash the potatoes over low heat before adding the other ingredients.

3. Turn off the heat and add 1 ½ sticks of butter, cream cheese, and ½ cup half-and-half. Stir until combined. Season with salt and pepper. Add spices to taste.

4. Mix well and transfer to a baking dish. Place several pieces of butter on top of the potatoes and put in the oven.

5. Bake at 175 degrees until the butter melts and the potatoes are heated through.
