Sweet pastry made from yeast-free puff pastry
Description
Delicious pastries for the whole family. Don't know yet what sweet treat to make with yeast-free puff pastry for tea? I highly recommend sweet puff pastry rolls with custard cream. You can use ready-made pastry, saving at least an hour of time, and prepare the cream to your taste. These rolls go well not only with custard, but also with buttercream or even meringue (remember those meringue puff rolls from childhood?). Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Step 1

1. For making the rolls, I usually use ready-made puff pastry. From 0.5 kg of dough, you get 25 small rolls. So, take a sheet, roll it out and cut into long strips no more than 3 centimeters wide. I have special molds for these rolls, but you can make cones out of foil, for example. Wrap each strip around a separate mold and place them onto a baking sheet.

2. Then brush all the preparations with egg (you can use just the yolk).

Step 3

3. Place in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes. After baking, let the pastries cool down, and in the meantime prepare the cream. I prefer a custard cream with butter, but you can make a meringue cream, for example. To make the custard cream, I whisk eggs with sugar and milk over heat, constantly stirring, then cool the mixture and whisk it with butter using a whisk until smooth and homogeneous.

Step 4

4. Place the cream in the refrigerator to set (approximately one hour). Fill the cooled pastry tubes with the cream.

Step 5

5. I always make a topping from one or two shells by grinding a shell in a blender. Once you've filled the shells with cream, dip both ends into the topping.

Step 6

6. That's it—your sweet treat made from yeast-free puff pastry is now on the table! Very quick and easy. It will be even faster if you prepare some butter cream or meringue.
