Sweet Pumpkin Bread
Description
To make sweet pumpkin bread aromatic, I added orange juice and orange zest. I also added a bit of turmeric to enhance the bread’s color. I want to point out the flour amount—you may need a little more than the recipe states, due to the varying juiciness of the pumpkin. But you shouldn’t make the dough too stiff; it’s sweet bread, it should be soft. Let’s move on to the recipe.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Prepare the necessary ingredients. Peel the pumpkin and remove the inner fibrous part. Weigh 100 g.
- 2
Step 2

2. In warm water dissolve the yeast, let it sit for about 10 minutes for them to “wake up”.
- 3
Step 3

3. Add grated pumpkin (I used a fine grater), sugar, salt, warm orange juice, turmeric, soft butter or margarine. Mix.
- 4
Step 4

4. Add the sifted wheat flour and knead a soft dough.
- 5
Step 5

5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave the dough in a warm place for 1.5 hours. After it rises, punch down the dough and let it rise again.

Step 6

6. Grease your hands with vegetable oil, knead the dough well. Tie it with a thick string so that you get 8 segments. Do not tie it too tightly, because the dough will rise. Leave the future “pumpkin” in a warm oven for about 15‑20 minutes to rise.

Step 7

7. Bake the bread at 180 °C for 25‑30 minutes. Cool, remove the twine and serve!
