Description
The dish is easy to prepare with no unnecessary complications. Sweet potatoes contain carotene, vitamin C, and potassium. Sweet potato fries are great as a snack or side dish. They make an excellent alternative to popcorn and a wonderful light snack. Spices in the recipe can easily be replaced with your favorite herbs and seasonings—for example, you can substitute cayenne pepper with rosemary. The finished dish is ready to serve.

Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 230 degrees. Peel the sweet potato and cut it into long strips about 1 cm thick. The thinner the strips, the crispier the potato will be, and the faster it will cook.

Step 2

2. Place the potatoes in a bowl and add olive oil.

Step 3

3. Then add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix thoroughly so that the oil and spices evenly coat the potatoes. If you like a spicier flavor, add more cayenne pepper.

Step 4

4. Evenly spread the potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Then stir the potatoes and bake for another 10–15 minutes until golden and crispy. Check the potatoes after 20 minutes of baking to prevent burning—cooking time varies depending on the oven. Let the potatoes cool slightly before serving.
