Mackerel baked in the oven
Description
In our family, mackerel is always a big hit. We eat mackerel in many different ways—cold-smoked, hot-smoked, fried, and, of course, baked. Baked mackerel in the oven is definitely one of the best ways to prepare this fish, so if you're wondering what to cook with mackerel, I recommend trying this photo recipe. Good luck!
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

We start quite standardly—wash the fish, gut it, and cut off the gills. It's also better to remove the black membranes inside the fish's belly.
- 2
Step 2

Wash the dill, dry it, and finely chop.
- 3
Step 3

Rub the mackerel with salt and pepper, and generously sprinkle with dill.
- 4
Step 4

Wrap the mackerel in plastic wrap, spray with lemon juice and olive oil, and refrigerate to marinate for 1-2 hours.
- 5
Step 5

Take a sheet of foil and place the marinated fish on it. If desired, you can add a couple of slices of lemon or orange (optional).
- 6
Step 6

Wrap the fish in foil. Place it in the oven and bake for about 25 minutes at 190 degrees. Done!
