
Mackerel in a can in the oven
Description
A recipe so simple it can't get any easier. Mackerel baked in a jar in the oven resembles canned fish. Juicy, flavorful fish with aromatic vegetables makes a great dish for lunch or dinner. Before starting, carefully check the integrity of the glass jar. Do not pack the fish too tightly.

Prepare the ingredients for making mackerel in a can.

Gut the mackerel, remove the head, fins, and the black membrane inside the belly. Rinse thoroughly inside and out. Cut into pieces.

Place on a plate, season with salt and pepper, drizzle with lemon juice and sunflower oil. Let it sit for 30-40 minutes.

Peel and wash the onion and carrot. Chop the onion and grate the carrot.

Place herbs, some of the onion, and carrot on the bottom of the jar.

Layer the fish with vegetables and herbs. Add bay leaves. Pour in 50 ml of water.

Cover the jar with foil and place it in a cold oven. Set the temperature to 170-175 degrees. After 15-20 minutes, juice will appear in the jar. Once the fish begins to boil, cook the mackerel for 35-40 minutes, then turn off the oven.
