
Mackerel stewed in sour cream

Rinse the mackerel, clean and gut it, then remove the head. Cut the fish into portion-sized pieces and place them in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper, mix well, and set aside.

Peel the potatoes, wash them, and slice thinly. Place them in cold water for 10 minutes to remove the starch.

Peel the carrots, wash them, and slice into rounds. Lightly fry the mackerel in oil, then remove it and sauté the carrots in the same pan.

Wash and finely chop the onion. Lightly sauté the tomatoes, cut into wedges. Boil the potatoes for a few minutes in salted water.

Now layer the fish, carrots, onion, and tomato in the pan. Simmer them covered over low heat, adding water.
