
Mackerel with herbs and lemon, baked in foil
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Cooking mackerel according to this recipe is very easy. It's best to serve the mackerel hot. The finished dish can be served at the table.

1. Rinse the whole mackerel bodies, carefully cut open the belly with a sharp knife without touching the gall bladder, remove the innards. Thoroughly rinse each fish inside and out under cold running water. Pat dry with paper towels.

2. Mash the butter with a fork, then add capers, finely chopped basil and parsley, lemon juice, and salt. Spread the resulting mixture inside and outside each mackerel. Place thinly sliced lemons and chopped herbs inside the belly of each fish.

3. Fold the foil sheet in half and place each fish body on top (the foil sheets should be significantly larger than the fish itself).

4. Wrap the fish in foil, seal the edges of the foil, and place in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius for thirty to forty minutes.

5. Then remove the fish from the oven, place it on a serving dish, and serve. Serve the mackerel hot, garnished with fresh herbs and lemon slices.
