Korean-Style Mackerel
Description
It works for holidays and everyday meals alike. Mackerel is delicious no matter how you cook it. You can fry it, bake it, or smoke it. I also like this version — in a spicy Korean-style marinade. Have you tried it? If not, I’ll tell you how. Serve with herbs and sauce.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Gut the mackerel and fillet it. Carefully remove all bones. Rinse and cut the fish into small pieces.
- 2
Step 2

Place the fish pieces in the container in which we will marinate them.
- 3
Step 3

Peel the onion and slice it into rings or half-rings. Add the onion to the fish.
- 4
Step 4

In a small saucepan or skillet, prepare the marinade. Pour in the vinegar, vegetable oil, and water. Add all the remaining ingredients.
- 5
Step 5

Mix until smooth and bring the marinade to a boil.
- 6
Step 6

Pour hot marinade over the fish with onion and mix gently. Let cool, then mix again, press down with a flat plate, and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
