Thanks to a good marinade, mackerel acquires an incredible flavor! Try it. The appetizer is ready. Serve immediately.

Thaw the fish, cut off its head and tail. Clean the carcass, removing the innards.

Cut the fish into pieces 3–4 cm wide.

Slice the onion into half-moons.

Let's prepare the marinade for mackerel. Combine warm water with vinegar, vegetable oil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix.

Take a suitable container for marinating with a tightly fitting lid. A plastic food container is ideal for this purpose. Place bay leaves at the bottom of the container.

Place several pieces of fish and salt them.
