Description

This recipe won't take much time. In our family, dishes made from various types of fish have always been popular, especially when made from delicious river whitefish. I know many different ways to cook this fish, but today I'd like to share with you the simplest recipe for baking whitefish in foil in the oven. All we need is just a couple of onions, some fresh dill, salt, pepper, and, of course, the fish itself. Basically, these are all the necessary ingredients to make incredibly tasty, juicy, and aromatic oven-baked whitefish at home. 1) First, gut the fish, remove the scales, and rinse it thoroughly under running water. Then rub the whitefish all over with salt and ground pepper. 2) Next, peel the onion and slice it into rings. Wash the fresh dill and chop it finely. 3) Now there are two preparation options. In the first, take a baking dish, place the sliced onions in it, sprinkle with dill, put the fish on top, and cover the dish with foil. In the second option, place the onions and dill directly onto a sheet of foil, put the fish on top, and wrap it tightly in the foil. You can use either method—both will yield excellent results. 4) Place the fish in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for about 40–50 minutes. When the time is up, unwrap the foil and bake the fish for a couple more minutes without it, so the fish can brown slightly. Transfer the cooked whitefish onto a plate, garnish with lemon slices, and serve hot. Enjoy your meal!
