Sicheniki
Description
This recipe won't take much time. This method of preparing sychenyky certainly can't be called diet-friendly—it's simply the nature of the cuisine and the dish. So if you don't like fatty food, the rich and juicy flavor of sychenyky might not touch your soul as deeply as it does for many fans of this snack. But it's still worth trying, right? :) So, here's how to make sychenyky at home: 1. Fry the pork fat in a skillet until it slightly melts. To do this, cut the fat into small pieces and fry, stirring constantly, so it doesn't burn. 2. Wash and peel the onion, finely chop it, and sauté together with the fat until cooked. 3. When the onion turns golden, crack four eggs directly into the skillet, mix everything together, and add a little salt. 4. Once this omelet is cooked, remove the skillet from heat and let it cool completely. 5. Meanwhile, prepare the meat. According to the traditional recipe, it must be finely chopped (or "diced") by hand using a sharp knife. However, if you're short on time, you can use a blender or meat grinder. 6. Once the omelet has cooled, dice it finely with a knife and mix it thoroughly with the ground meat. Mix well, then season with salt and pepper to taste. 7. Lightly beat the remaining raw egg with a fork. Shape the mixture into small patties, dip each patty first into the raw egg and then into breadcrumbs, and fry on both sides in a skillet! I hope you'll enjoy this unusual yet simple Ukrainian-style sychenyky recipe! :) Serve hot.
