Instead of dough, Swedes use crushed cookies mixed with butter, and instead of cottage cheese, they use soft cheeses like "Philadelphia." In our stores, the dessert labeled "Swedish cheesecake" is usually a cake with a dough base. Through trial and error, I've developed a version closest to the store-bought one.
