
Swedish cake
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. You don't need a special baking pan—this cake is baked on a baking sheet. You can prepare the dough in advance or even buy ready-made dough. You can use not only the filling listed in the recipe, but also replace it with a mixture of cream cheese and vanilla. Serve the cake after it has cooled down. The baking is ready. Serve and enjoy.

1. Dissolve the yeast in half a cup of water. Melt 115 grams of butter and white sugar in warm milk, then combine with the yeast mixture. Mix flour with salt and cardamom, add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and knead the dough. Transfer the dough to a bowl and let it rise for 1–2 hours. Divide the dough into 2 parts, stretch one part by hand into a rectangle, then repeat the process with the second part.

2. Melt the remaining butter and brush it onto both layers of dough, leaving a 1 cm border on each edge. Mix the brown sugar with cinnamon, sprinkle over the dough, then add the almonds.

3. Carefully roll both layers into a log.

4. Grease a baking sheet with oil and place one roll on it, shaping it into a ring.

5. Use scissors to make cuts all around the ring.

6. The dough will resemble a wreath; then repeat the same steps with the other roll. Let the dough rest for 40 minutes, covered with plastic wrap. Mix the yolk with cream and brush each wreath.

7. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

8. Mix the powdered sugar with 1 tablespoon of water, use the resulting glaze to decorate the pastry, and serve.
