Black Forest Cake
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. This cake recipe can be found in almost any cookbook, so there are many variations of its preparation. However, this doesn't mean that all of them are correct. Of course, I won't claim that this recipe is truly original either, but that doesn't mean it won't turn out delicious. The key to making it is choosing high-quality dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa content. This cake isn't suitable for a children's party, but adults certainly need sweets too. It can be served with tea or coffee.

Step 1

1. For the sponge cake: I crack the eggs into a bowl, add granulated sugar, and beat with a mixer until a fluffy foam forms.

Step 2

2. Gradually add the pre-sifted flour and cocoa in portions, mixing thoroughly until a smooth, uniform mixture is obtained.

Step 3

3. Grease the baking pan with butter, pour in the batter, spread it evenly, and place in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Step 4

4. I remove the ready-made biscuit from the mold and transfer it to a cooling rack, then cut it into 2 parts. At the same time, I prepare the syrup: in a saucepan, I mix water with sugar, heat it, and after all the sugar granules have dissolved, add alcohol and stir.

Step 5

5. For the cream: whip the cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla with a mixer until stiff peaks form. Place one biscuit layer on a plate, generously soak it with the prepared syrup, then spread with cream and arrange cherries on top.

Step 6

6. I soak the second cake layer with syrup and place it on top of the first one. Then I spread the same cream over the top and sides.

Step 7

7. Grate the dark chocolate on a grater and sprinkle it over the sides and top of the finished cake. Pipe the cream on top using a pastry bag for decoration, then place a few cherries on top. Refrigerate the cake for 3–5 hours to set, then serve.
