Quick Snail Buns
Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. Beautiful, tasty, and simple—this is exactly what these buns are all about. The dough is very easy to prepare and always turns out well, even for those who aren't confident with yeast dough. You can work with the dough right after the first rise, which is why these buns are so quick—both to make and to eat :) The filling for the snails can be any—potato, cabbage, cheese, or jam. Just don't use too much filling, as the dough is rolled very thin and might tear. I'll explain. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First of all, we'll prepare the dough. Mix the yeast with sugar and add a glass of warm milk or water. Stir and place in a warm spot.
- 2
Step 2

In about 10 minutes, the yeast will rise into a foamy layer. Add salt and vegetable oil, then mix.
- 3
Step 3

And add the flour.
- 4
Step 4

The dough turns out soft, elastic, and does not stick to hands.
- 5
Step 5

Cover the dough with a towel and place it in a warm spot. In about 20 minutes, it will triple in size.
- 6
Step 6

While the dough is rising, let's prepare the filling. Soak the raisins in hot water for about 5 minutes, then drain and squeeze dry. The cottage cheese should be sieved, without lumps. Add the raisins, vanilla sugar, and regular sugar to the cottage cheese, then mix well.
- 7
Step 7

Chop the nuts finely with a knife.
- 8
Step 8

Divide the dough into 10-12 parts.
- 9
Step 9

And roll out into flatbreads, 10-12 cm in diameter. Brush half of the flatbreads with very soft or melted butter using a brush.
- 10
Step 10

Cover with the second, unsmeared flatbread, and press down slightly. Repeat the same steps with all the flatbreads.
- 11
Step 11

Now roll out the double flatbread into a very thin rectangular sheet. The dough is soft and easy to work with, and you don't even need to dust the table with flour.
- 12
Step 12

Spread a thin layer of 1/5 or 1/6 of the filling (depending on how many portions you divided the dough into)
- 13
Step 13

Roll up the roll, then shape it into a snail.
- 14
Step 14

These are what snail buns look like. You can brush the top with egg yolk.
- 15
Step 15

I brushed the buns with butter and sprinkled them with chopped nuts. Gently press, pressing the nuts into the dough. Let the buns sit for about 5 minutes.
- 16
Step 16

Bake at 180-200 degrees until golden brown.
- 17
Step 17

Inside, they turn out layered. Very delicious!
