Pike baked whole in the oven
Description
I think real fishermen would agree that any fish tastes much better when freshly caught and cooked over a campfire, as there's a special atmosphere in the open air. But when that's not possible, you can still prepare something delicious with fresh fish right in your kitchen, and today I'm going to tell you how.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Before cooking, the fish should, of course, be gutted and thoroughly rinsed.
- 2
Step 2

Next, we dry the pike and rub it with salt on all sides, then let it sit for a few minutes to absorb the salt.
- 3
Step 3

Line a baking sheet with foil and grease it with butter. Place the fish on the foil and thoroughly coat it with butter as well.
- 4
Step 4

Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven at 160 degrees and bake the pike for about 1 hour. During baking, baste the fish every 15 minutes with the melted butter that drips off it.

Step 5

Now our juicy, aromatic, and incredibly delicious pike is ready—just garnish it with fresh herbs and serve.
