Pike in batter
Description
Making pike in batter at home is incredibly easy! This dish will surprise your guests, you can make smaller pieces as appetizers, and even experiment with the batter (as in my recipe).

Step 1

1. Fried pike in batter is a fantastic dish that can become one of the highlights of a festive table. If you're not expecting guests, treat your family to this delicious fish.

Step 2

2. I usually buy ready-made pike fillet, wash it thoroughly, and cut it into small pieces. If you have a whole fish, gut it, wash it, and remove the fillet.

Step 3

3. After salting and peppering the fish, set it aside and proceed to prepare the batter. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

Step 4

4. Beat the egg with the flour and add the cheese at the end. Hard cheese varieties are best suited for this batter.

Step 5

5. Coat each piece in batter and fry in a pan. Sometimes I experiment and deep-fry small pieces of fish in batter. I usually make this dish as an appetizer with beer for my husband and guests. According to the classic pike-in-batter recipe, the pieces are fried on both sides in a small amount of oil in a pan.

Step 6

6. The fish can be served on its own or with a side dish and vegetables. Its flavor is truly impressive, even to the most discerning gourmets. Pike is incredibly tasty by itself, but combined with batter and cheese, it becomes extraordinary.
