Strudel with Apples and Cherries
Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. I used frozen cherries and did not thaw them beforehand; you can also use fresh pitted cherries. My finished strudel was the size of a full standard baking sheet, but you can make two small ones instead—whatever you prefer. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients right away. Wash the apples.
- 2
Step 2

First prepare the dough. Pour water into a bowl, add vegetable oil, crack in an egg, and add salt. Mix.
- 3
Step 3

Sift all the flour.
- 4
Step 4

Knead a soft dough that does not stick to your hands.
- 5
Step 5

Prepare the filling. Peel and core the apples, then cut them into small cubes.
- 6
Step 6

Place the sliced apples and cherries in the sauté pan.
- 7
Step 7

Add the brown sugar and cinnamon. Set the saucepan over low heat and simmer until the released liquid comes to a boil, stirring the mixture with a spoon.
- 8
Step 8

Add the starch and continue cooking until thickened, stirring constantly with a spoon.
- 9
Step 9

Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough out into the thinnest sheet you can.
- 10
Step 10

Place the apple-cherry filling on the edge of the dough, as shown in the photo.
- 11
Step 11

Roll the dough into a roll so the filling is inside. Place the strudel on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment; you can brush the strudel with beaten egg. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 40–45 minutes.
- 12
Step 12

Let the finished strudel cool completely, then slice it.
