Chocolate Strudel
Description
The pastry is prepared simply and quickly. Chocolate strudel is very easy to make. Take ready-made puff pastry, roll it out thinly, sprinkle with nuts and add pieces of chocolate. Roll it up and bake in a preheated oven until done. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients. Take the puff pastry out of the freezer 30–40 minutes before cooking.
- 2
Step 2

To begin, roll out the thawed dough on a floured work surface.
- 3
Step 3

You can roll the strudel in two ways, the classic and the braid. For the first, sprinkle the rolled‑out dough with nuts, leaving a blank strip of one‑to‑two centimeters on each side. Place chocolate on top.
- 4
Step 4

Fold the dough at the sides and roll it up into a log.
- 5
Step 5

To make a braid, mentally divide the sheet of dough into three parts. Place nuts and chocolate in the middle. Make symmetrical cuts on the sides. Fold the dough from the sides, and then, alternating the strips, braid it.
- 6
Step 6

Transfer the strudels onto a baking sheet. Brush with egg and bake in a preheated 180°C oven for 15–20 minutes. Cooking time will depend on the size of your strudels.

Step 7

Dust the finished strudel with powdered sugar. Serve it while still warm, but its taste will also be excellent when served cold.
