
Scottish shortbread cookies
Description
The pastry is easy and quick to prepare. It can be served with tea or coffee.

1. Beat the soft butter with a mixer for 2 minutes. In a saucepan, combine 1 tablespoon of water with sugar. Heat the mixture. Separately, mix 2 tablespoons of flour with water. When the sugar mixture comes to a boil, add the flour mixture. Stirring constantly, cook until the sugar dissolves.

2. Then combine the butter with the sugar mixture. Add vanilla and baking soda. Gradually add flour and knead the dough.

3. Roll out the finished dough into a sheet. Cut or divide it into cookies.

4. Then place the items on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Beat the egg with milk. Brush the mixture over the items. Sprinkle them with sugar on top, if desired.

5. Bake the cookies for 13 minutes at 180 degrees in the oven.
