Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Grease a round baking pan and dust with flour. Sift flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda, and cocoa into a large bowl. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, vegetable oil, 1 cup of water, maple syrup, applesauce, vinegar, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir for 2 minutes. Pour into the prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) for 30–40 minutes. Cool and top with German chocolate frosting. For the frosting: Bring soy milk, barley malt syrup, and brown rice syrup to a boil. Mix egg replacer powder with 1/4 cup water until foamy. Add to the milk and syrup mixture and cook until thickened. Blend tofu in a food processor until smooth and add to the thickened mixture. Stir in coconut flakes, pecans, and arrowroot. Cook for 2 minutes, then remove from heat. Cool. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
