Chocolate cake with prunes
Description
Homemade pastry for tea. For this cake, we will use prunes both chopped and whole, so the taste of dried fruit will be clearly noticeable. The cake looks "sticky" because it's soaked with syrup after baking. A great option for cozy gatherings over a cup of tea on a cold day. Can be served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Place half of the prunes in a small saucepan, pour in the cognac, and heat to 35-40 degrees, then remove from heat.
- 2
Step 2
Place the remaining prunes in the blender bowl, pour in the yogurt, and blend until smooth. Transfer to a large bowl.
- 3
Step 3
Into the same bowl, crack an egg, add sugar (75 grams), and pour in maple syrup, thoroughly mixing after adding each ingredient.
- 4
Step 4
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder until well combined.
- 5
Step 5
Remove the prunes from the pot with cognac and cut them in half. Set the cognac aside. Chop the dark chocolate into large pieces.
- 6
Step 6
Mix dry and wet ingredients until smooth, then add chopped chocolate.
- 7
Step 7
Pour the mixture into a prepared baking dish lined with parchment paper. Place the chopped prunes on top and gently press them into the dough.
- 8
Step 8
Place the pan in a preheated oven at 180 degrees and bake for 30 minutes.
- 9
Step 9
While the pie is baking, prepare the syrup. To do this, add 50 grams of sugar to a saucepan with the brandy, pour in 1/3 cup of water, bring to a boil over medium heat, then immediately remove from heat.
- 10
Step 10
As soon as the pie is ready, remove it from the oven, prick it in several places, and soak it with syrup.
- 11
Step 11
Serve the pie only after it has completely cooled, as it will soak through during this time.
- 12
Step 12
Ready. Serve at the table.
