Chocolate buns with ricotta made from puff pastry

Description

The baked goods are easy and quick to prepare. You can use any puff pastry you like for the rolls. With non-yeast dough they will turn out crisp, while yeast dough makes them more tender and soft. This recipe uses yeast puff pastry. Use chocolate spread and nuts to taste. If you don’t have ricotta on hand, replace it with soft cottage cheese.

    Prepare all the ingredients you need for chocolate ricotta buns made from puff pastry. Take the pastry out ahead of time and thaw it.

    Dust the tabletop with flour and roll out the puff pastry slightly. Cut it into four pieces and spread the tops with chocolate spread, leaving a 2 cm border at the edges.

    Chop the nuts and sprinkle them on top of the chocolate spread.

    Mix the ricotta with half an egg yolk and vanilla sugar. Spread the ricotta over the chocolate paste.

    Fold in two opposite edges and roll them into a roll. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper and place the buns apart, seam side down. Mix the remaining egg yolk with the milk and brush the tops.

    Place the baking sheet with the buns in a hot oven and bake at 180°C for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
