
Chocolate cookies with caramel and nuts
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. A recipe for cookies with chocolate, vanilla extract, pieces of toffee, and walnuts. A sweet chocolatey delight to add to your recipe collection. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

1. Chop the chocolate. Coarsely chop the chocolate-covered caramels. Toast the walnuts and chop them. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Melt chocolate and butter in a bowl set over a saucepan of boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved. Cool the mixture to room temperature.

2. Using an electric mixer, beat sugar and eggs in a bowl for about 5 minutes. Add the chocolate mixture and vanilla extract. Add the flour mixture, then the toffee pieces and nuts. Refrigerate the dough for 45 minutes.

3. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment or wax paper. Spoon the dough onto the baking sheet, placing about 5 cm apart. Sprinkle with sea salt, if using.

4. Bake until the cookies are dry and cracked but still soft to the touch, 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on the baking sheet. Cookies can be made up to 2 days ahead. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
