Chocolate cookies with prunes
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The chocolate flavor of the baked cookies is perfectly complemented by prunes. They give the dessert a subtle tangy, smoky note, making you want to eat more and more. Serve the fragrant cookies with lemonade or warm milk, colorful tea or freshly brewed coffee with cream. If desired, instead of cocoa powder, you can add finely grated dark chocolate to the dough. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Buy pitted prunes, you will need a maximum of 100 grams of dried fruit. Be sure to rinse them in water to remove dust and dry with paper towels.
- 2
Step 2

Beat the chicken egg into a deep container, add sugar and salt. Optionally, you can also add vanilla sugar. Whisk thoroughly for 2-3 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Melt the butter and add it to the container along with the cocoa powder. Gently mix for 1-2 minutes. Cocoa blends perfectly only with warm ingredients, so melted butter is its best partner. If butter is not available, use high-quality margarine, but not spread!

Step 4

Add the premium wheat flour and baking powder in parts. Knead a firm chocolate dough. You may need a little more flour, depending on the size of the chicken egg.
- 5
Step 5

Chop the pitted prunes into small cubes and mix them into the chocolate dough for 1-2 minutes until evenly distributed.
- 6
Step 6

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll into balls. Place them on the baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.

Step 7

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the aromatic chocolate cookies for about 15–20 minutes. The smaller the dough balls, the faster they will bake. Turn off the oven and let the cookies cool down— they will become crisp and brittle.

Step 8

Place it on a plate using a silicone spatula and serve warm or cold—it's always delicious! Enjoy your meal!
