
Chocolate fondant
Description
Chocolate fondant is a delicious and pliable material that can be used to decorate cakes, cupcakes, pies, and other baked goods. You can completely cover a cake with chocolate fondant, make ribbons and arrows, or cut out various shapes and decorations. It all depends only on your imagination.

Step 1

1. Chop the chocolate and place it in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, removing and stirring every 45 seconds to prevent overheating. Take the chocolate out of the microwave and stir. Add corn syrup and mix until smooth.

2. Place the chocolate on a large sheet of plastic wrap and wrap it up. Let the chocolate cool and harden. This will take at least 6 hours. It's better to leave the chocolate overnight.

3. Soften the chocolate by hand or in the microwave (in 10-second intervals) until it becomes soft enough. If the chocolate starts to stick, dust your hands with powdered sugar (for white chocolate) or cocoa powder (for milk chocolate). If you need chocolate fondant in different colors, add food coloring to the white chocolate. The chocolate fondant is now ready to use. Leftover chocolate fondant, wrapped in plastic wrap, can be stored in the refrigerator for 2–3 weeks.
