Chocolate sausage
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. It's easier and safer to let children make no-bake desserts using cookies or crushed crackers—banana cake, "ant hill," "potato" pastries, and others. That's exactly why my first cooking successes began with these very simple recipes. At first, I made this dessert without dried fruits and nuts, but much later I added nuts and raisins to the mixture, keeping everything else unchanged. You should try it too. The ready dessert can now be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

To make chocolate sausage, we need ready-made cookies. I always use sponge shortbread cookies, but if you can't find them, you can use "Maria"-type crackers. Put the cookies into a bag and crush them into crumbs using a rolling pin.
- 2
Step 2

The cookies should be broken into uneven pieces. This way, there will be light spots in the cross-section of the finished roll.
- 3
Step 3

Place the powdered sugar in a saucepan (you can use regular sugar, but then the finished chocolate mixture will need to be heated longer to dissolve the sugar). Add condensed milk, butter, and cocoa. Melt everything over a double boiler, stirring constantly. If you are using a saucepan like mine (thick-walled), you can place it directly over low heat.

Step 4

As a result, we will get a smooth chocolate glaze.
- 5
Step 5

Add broken cookies to the chocolate glaze (it does not need to be cooled).
- 6
Step 6

Shell the walnuts. Chop the kernels and add them to the chocolate mixture.
- 7
Step 7

Wash the raisins and add them to the chocolate mixture. Mix well.
- 8
Step 8

Lay plastic wrap on the table. Place the chocolate mixture onto it. Gather the edges of the plastic wrap and shape the mixture into a sausage-like roll.
- 9
Step 9

We'll end up with a neat sausage-like shape. Secure the edges of the film well so the chocolate mixture doesn't leak out.
- 10
Step 10

Now transfer the chocolate sausage onto a flat, even surface. Place it in the freezer for 30-40 minutes. The sausage will harden. Take it out, remove the film, and slice it into pieces with a sharp wide knife.

Step 11

Serve at the table. This dessert is very delicious served with tea or unsweetened coffee. Children especially love to wash down this treat with milk.
