Pumpkin cutlets
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. When autumn brings an abundance of vegetables, it's the perfect time to try vegetable versions of your favorite meals. I suggest making pumpkin schnitzels—tender, delicious, and healthy! You can use any breading: egg, flour, breadcrumbs. Today I'm using double breading, which results in a crispy, aromatic crust on top. Definitely save this recipe! Serve the finished dish right away.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Peel the pumpkin and slice it thinly.
- 3
Step 3

For the batter, combine the egg, sour cream, nutmeg, salt, and ground pepper to taste.
- 4
Step 4

Dip each piece of pumpkin first into the egg mixture.
- 5
Step 5

Then coat in breadcrumbs. Next, dip again in the egg mixture, and once more in the breadcrumbs. You should get a double breading.
- 6
Step 6

Place the cutlets onto a well-heated pan with oil. Fry over medium heat on both sides until golden brown on top.
- 7
Step 7

For the sauce, mix sour cream and mayonnaise in equal proportions. Add crushed garlic, any fresh herbs, and mix everything well. Schnitzels can also be served optionally with just sour cream, if desired.

Step 8

Tastes best fresh and hot, straight from the heat.
