
Schnitzel with mackerel
Description
The dish results in a juicy fish schnitzel. This schnitzel goes best with rice or potatoes.

1. Rinse the fish under cold running water. Carefully make an incision along the belly with a sharp knife and remove the innards. Also remove the backbone and bones. Carefully cut off the flesh with a knife.

2. Remove the thin skin covering the fish. Then carefully trim the fins, making sure both halves of the fish remain connected. Rinse the fillet thoroughly once again. Now pat it dry slightly. Season with salt and pepper. Generously coat both sides with sour cream.

3. Let the fish sit in the sour cream for about twenty minutes. Beat a raw egg, mix well, and coat the fish fillets on both sides with it. Shake off any excess egg mixture right before you start frying the fish.

4. Heat vegetable oil well in a frying pan and fry the schnitzel for three minutes on one side and two minutes on the other.

5. Place the ready cutlets immediately onto individual serving plates. Serve with boiled rice or potatoes as a side dish.
