Shawarma with French fries
Description
Perfect for the table and with drinks. In addition to the potatoes, I suggest adding a salad of fresh cabbage, cucumbers, and dill; we’ll also add chicken and sauce. Serve this shawarma right after it’s made, while the potatoes are still crispy. As an accompaniment, you can serve tea or a cup of coffee. It can be served warm or chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Peel the potatoes, rinse them, and grate on a Korean carrot grater.
- 3
Step 3

Transfer the potatoes to a large bowl and cover with water. Rinse the potatoes, drain the water, and repeat the procedure three times. Then dry the potatoes.
- 4
Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet, add the potatoes, and fry over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, until golden and crispy.
- 5
Step 5

Shred the cabbage into thin strips, and cut the cucumber into small sticks. Finely chop the dill.
- 6
Step 6

Add salt and pepper to the salad, a little oil. Mix everything together and massage the cabbage with your hands.
- 7
Step 7

Lay a sheet of lavash on the work surface. Along the edge of the lavash, arrange the salad and pieces of chicken breast—boiled, baked, smoked, whichever you prefer.
- 8
Step 8

Fry the chicken and dress the salad with tomato sauce and garlic sauce. You can simply use mayonnaise and ketchup.
- 9
Step 9

Spread crispy potato sticks on top.
- 10
Step 10

Roll the lavash into a roll and serve.
