Lamb skewers with barberry
Description
Lamb shashlik turns out very tasty, thanks to a good marinade and properly selected spices. You can use less cumin if you don't like very spicy food. Serve with a side of fresh vegetable salad or simply sliced vegetables. Happy cooking!
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Cut the lamb into portion-sized pieces for shashlik.
- 2
Step 2

Slice the onion into half-rings.
- 3
Step 3

Place the meat in a large pot. Add the onions. Press the tomato and garlic through a garlic press and add them to the meat. Also add tomato paste and spices: barberry, cumin, and pepper with salt. Mix everything with your hands and let marinate in a cool place for several hours.

Step 4

Thread the kebab onto skewers.

Step 5

Transfer the skewers to the top shelf of the oven. Place a drip tray at the bottom to catch the juice (it will drip down). Cook at 200 degrees, rotating the skewers occasionally. Check for doneness with a knife: if no juice comes out, they're ready to be removed!
