Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. You can use pork tenderloin or pork belly. The tenderloin will result in a drier-tasting kebab, while the pork belly will yield a fattier and juicier one.
- 2
Step 2

Remove the skin and excess fat from the pork belly. Rinse the meat and cut it into portion-sized pieces. Place in a deep container.
- 3
Step 3

Peel the onion and rinse it, then slice into rings, but not too thin. Thin onion rings will break apart when mixing the preparation! Add to the container with the meat.
- 4
Step 4

Add salt and ground black pepper. Optionally, you can add other herbs and spices.
- 5
Step 5

Pour in red wine of any variety, but not sweet to taste! Choose table varieties.
- 6
Step 6

Gently mix everything with slight pressure so the onion slices release their juice. Let it sit for 2-3 hours at room temperature, or for 4-8 hours in the refrigerator if preparing the shashlik for tomorrow.
- 7
Step 7

After the specified time, light the coals in the barbecue or grill, thread the meat alternately with onion rings onto skewers, and grill the shashlik for approximately 15-20 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

Serve the ready-made shashlik in red wine hot, don't forget the fresh herbs and bread.
