Chicken fillet shashlik
Description
Although pork or lamb are traditionally used for shashlik, chicken makes a perfectly worthy option as well. Moreover, chicken is a more diet-friendly choice. Thanks to the pork fat, the chicken fillet doesn't dry out, and the marinade makes it incredibly juicy, aromatic, and delicious. Give it a try—you won't regret it.

Step 1

Here's the set of ingredients you'll need. Use the ready-made marinade if you don't have all the necessary spices on hand or don't have enough time.

Step 2

Wash and dry the fillet. Cut the meat into medium pieces. Slice the fat with a sharp knife into thin slices. If you slightly freeze it beforehand, it will be easier to work with. Finely chop the onion.

Step 3

Place everything into a deep bowl, add marinade to taste, and gently mix. Refrigerate for at least a couple of hours, but preferably overnight, so the chicken can thoroughly absorb all the flavors and aromas of the marinade.

Step 4

When the coals have burned down, carefully thread the fillet pieces onto the skewer, alternating with bacon. They should be placed tightly together to stay juicy. Grill until golden brown, turning constantly. Enjoy your delicious picnic!
