Horse meat shashlik
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Horse meat is very tasty and juicy, but tough, similar to beef. However, if you prepare the marinade properly, you'll get an excellent shish kebab. There are not many marinade recipes for horse meat, but I use one particular recipe for horse meat shish kebab that I really like. Here it is: 1. Wash the horse meat thoroughly and cut it into small pieces. The larger the meat pieces, the longer they need to marinate. You can lightly tenderize the meat. 2. Place the meat for shish kebab into a pot, add salt, pepper, mustard seeds, mix well, and pour in kefir (instead of kefir, you can use any other fermented milk product). 3. Cover the pot with horse meat and place it in a cool place for 8–12 hours. 4. After this time, take out the meat and thread the pieces onto skewers. You can add onion rings and tomatoes to the skewers, but that's a matter of personal preference. 5. Grill the shish kebab over coals, turning occasionally and basting with the marinade. The most important thing is not to overcook the meat, otherwise the shish kebab will turn out tough and dry. Serve the finished dish at the table.
