Chicken leg kebab
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Chicken is an excellent alternative to pork or lamb. Chicken meat is significantly cheaper, marinates faster, and is easier and quicker to cook. Besides, children prefer this kind of shashlik over fatty pork. For marinating shashlik, you can use wine, vinegar, honey with mustard, mayonnaise, kefir, or simply marinate it in spices with onion, as I'm showing. Serve hot.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Rinse the chicken legs thoroughly under running water, then pat them dry with a towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 2

2. Place pepper, salt, and thyme together into a mortar and grind. If you don't have a mortar, feel free to use ground pepper and crush the thyme with your hands. Peel, wash, and slice the onion into half-rings.

Step 3

3. Transfer the spices and onion to the bowl with the meat, mix well so they distribute evenly over all the pieces. Let it sit for at least half an hour, or longer if you have time.

Step 4

4. Heat the coals in a barbecue grill, thread the shanks onto skewers, and grill until a golden-brown crust forms. Transfer the cooked shashlik to a plate and serve hot with vegetables.
