
Shakshuka
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Traditional shakshuka is eggs cooked in a spicy tomato sauce. Don't be intimidated by the name of this exotic dish—it can be made using common ingredients available at any grocery store. The dish originates from Arab cuisine. Serve shakshuka with lavash. Serve hot.

1. Heat the oil in a skillet over high heat. Add sliced jalapeño chilies and onion. Cook, stirring, until soft and golden, about 6 minutes. Add minced garlic, cumin, and paprika. Cook, stirring, until the garlic is soft, about 2 minutes.

2. Place the tomatoes in a bowl, add the liquid from the can, and crush them by hand. Add the tomatoes and their liquid to the skillet along with 1/2 cup of water. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 15 minutes. Season the sauce with salt.

3. Break the eggs over the sauce, distributing them evenly across the sauce's surface. Cook until the yolks are firm, about 5 minutes. Using a spoon, mix the egg whites into the tomato mixture, taking care not to damage the yolks. Sprinkle with feta cheese and chopped parsley. Serve with lavash bread for dipping into the sauce.
