
Serbian ajvar
Description
Universal dressing for salads and hot dishes. The main ingredient for Serbian ajvar is bell pepper. The result is a spicy sauce that can be spread on bread or served with meat. A truly great recipe, perfect for pasta, meat, and vegetables.

Preparation begins with roasting the bell peppers. Arrange the peppers on a baking sheet, spaced apart from each other.

Preheat the oven. Bake the pepper until the skin begins to wrinkle.

The pepper has cooled. Peel off its skin and remove all the seeds.

Grind the peppers using a blender or meat grinder. Then repeat the same procedure with the tomatoes.

Next, do the same with the garlic, chili pepper, and onion. Grind them in a blender or meat grinder.

Now mix all our previously prepared ingredients in one bowl. Add salt, vinegar, and mustard. Cook for approximately 50–60 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly.

The ajvar is ready. Spoon it into jars and serve it to everyone around at the first opportunity!
