Pork and Cabbage Sandwiches
Description
Perfect for the table and with drinks. The highlight of this recipe is that the pork is braised with Coke. The unusual pairing of warm meat and a cold cabbage mixture gives these sandwiches a one-of-a-kind flavor. Serve the appetizer at the table.

Step 1

1. Cut the onion into 4 parts. Preheat the oven to 65°C. Season the pork with salt and pepper on both sides, place it in a pot, put the onion on top, and bake. Pour chipotle Adobo sauce over the top and add 2 cans of Coke. Add brown sugar and stir. Cover tightly with a lid and cook in the oven for about 6 hours, turning two or three times during cooking. After 6 hours, check the meat—it should pull easily from the bone. Test with two forks. If it does not pull apart easily, return it to the oven for another hour. Remove the meat from the pot and place it on a cutting board or work surface. Using two forks, shred the meat off the bones. Discard the fat. Return the shredded meat to the pot and keep warm until ready to serve.
