
Fish Sandwich with Sauce
Description
Perfect for the table and drinks. When you really want a snack but have absolutely no time to cook, try making our hearty sandwich with cod fried in cornmeal, tomatoes, and homemade tartar sauce. Serve the appetizer at the table.

1. To prepare the sauce, mix all the ingredients until smooth and chill until ready to use.

2. Slice the tomato into wedges. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Mix cornmeal, pepper, and salt together in a shallow dish. Dredge the cod in the cornmeal mixture, gently pressing it onto the fish. Shake off the excess.

3. Place the fish in a preheated skillet and fry for 3–5 minutes on each side, until a golden crispy crust forms. If your fish is quite thick, you can preheat the oven to 175 degrees, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and bake it a little longer until fully cooked.

4. Otherwise, cut the ciabatta loaf lengthwise in half, scrape out the inside, and pour the prepared sauce onto both halves of the bread.

5. Then add a layer of fish, tomatoes, lettuce, cover with the second half of the bread, cut into portions, and serve immediately.
