
Meatball Sandwich
Description
Perfect for the table and with drinks. These large, hearty sandwiches with meatballs and tomato sauce will quickly satisfy hunger. The appetizer is ready. Serve right away.

1. Finely chop the shallot, garlic, and parsley. Mix the turkey meat, egg, shallot, garlic, parsley, and grated Parmesan cheese in a large bowl. Mix well until a uniform consistency is reached.

2. Shape about 20 meatballs by hand. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the meatballs on all sides until browned.

3. While the meatballs are cooking, make the sauce. In a small bowl, mix the tomato sauce, basil, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of sugar if desired. Reduce the heat and add the prepared sauce to the meatballs. Simmer the meatballs in the sauce for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat.

4. Cut the bread into two halves, with the top half being slightly thinner than the bottom half.

5. Place a layer of meatballs in sauce on the bottom half of the bread, and put slices of Mozzarella cheese on top. Place in the oven.

6. As soon as the cheese melts and starts bubbling, remove the sandwich from the oven, cover it with the other half of the bread, cut it into equal parts with a sharp knife, and serve.
