Description
Suitable both for a holiday and for every day. There are several dozen ways to make a "Monte Cristo" sandwich. My recipe, it seems to me, is the simplest. Try making it by adding your own ingredients. Experiment.

1. Slice the cheese. Place two slices of ham and one slice of cheese on a piece of baguette, then cover with a second piece of baguette.

2. Beat the eggs with a whisk or fork together with the milk.

3. Dip the prepared sandwich into the milk-egg mixture.

4. Put the butter in the frying pan. Heat over medium-high heat. Fry the sandwiches for 7-8 minutes on each side.

5. The finished "Monte Cristo" sandwich should be cooled slightly and served.

6. Some people dust the Monte Cristo sandwich with powdered sugar. But that’s a matter of taste.
