
Sunflower Seeds in the Microwave
Description
It's easier than easy to roast sunflower seeds in the microwave if you have such an appliance in your kitchen. You'll need only 5 minutes, and the time can be shortened with a high-power microwave. The recipe lists 5 minutes for a 700 W microwave. Remember to rinse the seeds in water before roasting to wash off the dust. Serve with greens and sauce.

Prepare the seeds and salt.

Sort through the seeds, pour them into a deep container, and cover with water. Rinse thoroughly. If the water is too cloudy and dirty, rinse the seeds several more times, changing the water.

Line a dish or plate with paper towels, spread the rinsed seeds on them, and remove excess liquid. Pat dry with paper towels on top as well.

Then remove the wet paper towels and leave the seeds on the plate. Remember that the microwave container must not have silver or gold designs.

Place the plate of seeds in the microwave for 2–3 minutes and cover with a special lid. After that time, stir the seeds and cook for another 2–3 minutes. You will know the seeds are roasted when they start to crack open and pop.

Remove the plate from the microwave, add the salt, stir, and let the seeds cool for 7–8 minutes.

Transfer them into paper cones or a small bowl and enjoy tasting them. If needed, prepare another portion of the tasty snack.
