Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Boil the chicken eggs in advance for 10–12 minutes and cool them in ice water. It is best to buy fillet of salted herring — it has almost no bones.
- 2
Step 2

Peel the boiled chicken eggs, rinse them in water, and dice them. Dice the herring fillets as well, and remove any bones if present.
- 3
Step 3

Place the chopped pieces in the food processor bowl and cut soft butter into it as well. Do not substitute butter with margarine or spread!
- 4
Step 4

Season with pepper. If desired, add other spices and seasonings as well. If you like the aroma and flavor of onion, dice peeled yellow onion or washed green onion.
- 5
Step 5

Grind all contents of the container into a purée-like consistency for 3-4 minutes on pulse mode.

Step 6

Transfer the mixture to a piping bag and pipe it into tartlet shells, onto canapés, or simply into a bowl or sauce dish. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. During that time, the butter will firm up and spread smoothly on bread and toast. Enjoy your meal!
