Herring in Mustard Sauce
Description
1. First, rinse the fillets under running water and pat them dry with a paper towel. 2. Put the sugar (in this herring in mustard sauce recipe, use 50 to 100 grams, depending on your taste), a pinch of salt and pepper into a tall glass. 3. Add the vinegar and mustard. 4. Pour in the olive oil literally drop by drop and blend with an immersion blender until the mixture is smooth. 5. Herring in mustard sauce made at home can be served right away, but there is an even better option. Cut the prepared fillets into serving-size pieces. 6. Pour the sauce over the fish, cover the container with a lid or wrap it in plastic wrap, and let it marinate for at least 1 day. Ideally, let the herring stand for 2–3 days, gently stirring it from time to time. 7. Before serving, arrange the fish on a plate, then drizzle a little sauce on top. This appetizer will definitely not go unnoticed, thanks to its original, though piquant, flavor. It also looks very appetizing and can even be served with a side such as potatoes, for example.
