
Herring on the grill
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Herring is delicious both hot, straight off the coals, and cold after cooling down. You can serve it with any side dish, fresh vegetables, or sauces. If you enjoy eating fish outdoors, be sure to try grilling herring on the barbecue. The fish turns out incredibly tender, juicy, and very tasty. Serve hot.

Prepare all the ingredients.

Cut the thawed fresh herring open from the belly side and remove the innards. Cut off the head, tail, trim the fins, and rinse under running water. Generously salt with coarse salt, thoroughly rubbing it in with your hands.

Insert sliced lemon, a sprig of parsley, and dill into the belly cavity.

Pin the belly with toothpicks.

When the coals are ready, place the fish on the grill.

It's prepared very quickly! About 5 minutes on each side.

Remove the ready herring from the grill, transfer it to a plate, and drizzle with freshly squeezed lemon juice.
