
Herring with mustard sauce
Description
This appetizer is quick and easy to prepare. Serve this herring as an appetizer for a festive table or for dinner with mashed potatoes or other potato dishes. This herring can also be used to make appetizers in baskets or tartlets. It can be served warm or chilled.

Prepare lightly salted herring and the ingredients for the sauce: sour cream, mustard, dill, and garlic; for extra aroma, you can also add a couple of pinches of black pepper.

Wash the herring, cut off the head, remove the innards and skin. Separate the fillet from the backbone and cut it into portion-sized pieces.

Prepare the sauce. To do this, add Dijon mustard, dill, and garlic passed through a press to the sour cream. Mix.

Add the herring to the container with the sauce, stir, and leave it in the cold for 1–2 hours.
