Edible Easter egg basket
Description
The recipe won't take much time. If you don't know, it can be served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Take the dough out of the refrigerator 15 minutes in advance to let it thaw.
- 2
Step 2

Meanwhile, prepare the mold. I use a small clay pot, which is especially convenient. I'm confident it won't crack in the oven; it has a flat bottom, so my basket will also have a flat bottom, and its size is just right to help the finished basket hold its shape. I wrapped the pot with foil to make it easier to remove the finished basket.

Step 3

Roll out the dough to about 3-4 mm thickness. Cut it into 3 strips 10-12 mm wide, and the remaining dough into strips 5-6 mm wide. Place the wider strips in a star shape, letting the edges hang down. Trim off excess pieces. Slightly spread the strips apart on one side and add another strip so that you end up with an odd number of strips; otherwise, you won't be able to braid the basket. Gently flatten the dough at the bottom so that the finished basket will stand firmly. Begin braiding the basket from the bottom using the thin strips.

Step 4

You should get a basket like this. Secure the last row so that it doesn't collapse during baking.
- 5
Step 5

Transfer the basket to a baking sheet. Make a handle for the basket by braiding three thin strips. Create a base from several layers of foil in the shape of an arch, and place the braid on top of it. For added stability, place a support under the arch. Brush the basket and braid with beaten egg yolk and bake in the oven for 30 minutes (temperature 180°C).

Step 6

The basket and the handle for it are ready. Of course, the handle won't serve its direct function; it will only serve as decoration.
- 7
Step 7

Insert the edges of the handle into the basket. The edible basket for Easter eggs is ready. Just add the eggs.

Step 8

Look how beautiful it turned out!
