Sweet dough
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. This sweet treat is traditionally served with butter, jam, or honey. You can make a glaze or syrup to soak it with. Serve the pastry immediately after baking, while it's still hot and "breathing," although it's also delicious when cold. You can add variety by mixing in raisins or candied fruits.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Sift 240 grams of flour into a bowl, then mix it with sugar and yeast. Pour water, milk, and butter into a saucepan and heat until the butter melts.
- 2
Step 2
Pour the prepared mixture into the flour and yeast, mix and let stand for 15 minutes.
- 3
Step 3
Transfer the dough to the mixer bowl, attach the dough hook, and start kneading at low speed.
- 4
Step 4
Beat the eggs slightly, then add them to the dough, add salt, and sift in the remaining flour.
- 5
Step 5
Increase the speed and knead for about 5-6 minutes. Transfer the dough to a bowl and cover with a towel; let it rise for approximately 60-80 minutes, until the volume doubles.
- 6
Step 6
Place the dough on the table and divide it into 3 parts. Roll each part into a sausage shape, then braid the dough into a plait.
- 7
Step 7
Transfer the braid to a baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap (or a towel), let rest for another 30 minutes.
- 8
Step 8
Brush the pastry with egg yolk and place in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for half an hour.
