After five minutes, add a teaspoon of sugar and 5 teaspoons of flour from the total amount to the milk, stir, and let it stand for 15 minutes.

Step 5

Add half of the flour and stir.

Step 6

Add the remaining flour and knead the dough; you can mix it with a mixer or by hand. Cover the dough with plastic wrap or a towel and place it in a warm spot for 1.5 hours to ferment.
- 7
Step 7

While the dough is rising, work on the filling. Sauté the sauerkraut and onion in a skillet with vegetable oil.
- 8
Step 8

Add the sliced fresh young cabbage and continue sautéing until done.
- 9
Step 9

At the end of sautéing, add a tablespoon of cream or sour cream.

Step 10

Add finely chopped boiled egg to the cabbage. The cabbage filling is ready.

Now move on to preparing the meat filling. Finely chop the chicken breast fillet, add the sliced onion, season with salt and pepper.

Step 12

Add the diced potatoes, which are best parboiled for 3–4 minutes in boiling water, then drained in a sieve.

Divide the ready dough in half; each part will be about 270 grams.

- 15
Step 15

Place the meat filling in the center of the pie, and spread the cabbage filling around the edges. Mark the boundary between the fillings with the tip of a fork.
- 16
Step 16

Roll out the second layer of dough, and place it on top of the pie.
- 17
Step 17

Mark the cutting lines, first divide the pie into 4 sectors and then divide each sector into 4 parts, pinch the edges of the pie.
- 18
Step 18

Cut the pie along the marked lines, trying not to cut the parchment. Pinch one edge of a petal and fold it up with the filling. Do this with all the petals.

Step 19

Brush the ready-to-bake pie with a mixture of half an egg and a tablespoon of milk; you can sprinkle the center with black sesame.
- 20

Bake the pie in the oven for 45 minutes at a temperature of 180‑200 °C. If the pie starts to brown earlier, you can cover it with parchment or foil.
